Susan received her doctoral degree from the University of Connecticut in 1981. While pursuing her Ph.D., she was awarded a research assistantship in the Bureau of Educational Research. Shortly after, she was named an Associate Professor, teaching research methodology at the graduate and the undergraduate levels. She has also taught management, marketing and program evaluation courses.
Dr. Carroll established Words & Numbers Research, Inc. in 1984. The firm provides strategic information for data driven decisions through surveys, focus groups and in-depth interviews. Dr. Carroll has authored three books and numerous articles published in both peer review and trade journals. She has received awards for scholarship, business and leadership. David received his degree in 1977 at the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. While a student, David chose strategic planning and community organization as his areas of focus for academic preparation. David has conducted several large-scale program evaluations primarily in urban school systems including School to Work initiatives, dropout prevention, remedial education, peer mediation / violence prevention.
Strategic planning, needs assessments for community organizations and state agencies, and grants writing are David's areas of expertise. He is a published author of three books and many journal articles, and an excellent presenter on topics realated to referendum and budget passage and marketing communications. President and Founder.Conducted numerous surveys and evaluation projects which involved: original questionnaire design and/or test selection; individual and focus group interviewing; complete mail and telephone surveys; sampling strategies; data collection; coding data for computer entry into SPSS a statistics package; computer programming, de-bugging and execution; interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data; written and verbal reporting to non-academic audiences. Communicated with diversified groups of professionals, parents, and students. Several projects were multi-year in length, involved large numbers of subjects, and required multiple methods of data collection.

Associate Professor and Assistant to the Dean.Served on the Dean's Council (top management body where decision and policy making occurred in a collaborative format).
